Cheshire East Council is investing to improve the authority’s street lighting, by upgrading it to light emitting diode (LED) technology over the next three years.
LED street lighting emits a ‘white light’ and is a more energy efficient way to light roads and pavements that are the responsibility of Cheshire East Council.
Following the success of our LED improvements on traffic routes and some residential roads, the next stage of the programme focuses on the upgrade of street lighting in residential areas until 2019.
All street lighting columns under the responsibility of Cheshire East Council have also been structurally inspected. Some will need to be replaced as part of the LED replacement programme, but lantern upgrades only will be taking place in most cases.
Although you will be notified separately when the LED upgrades are to visit your area, please find attached some information on LED street lighting, our works and how they will affect residents and road users in Cheshire East.
Please also visit our website to check on progress with our programme and find out more about the improvements.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about our LED upgrades, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
