I am pleased to confirm that, as part of the scheme, the entire carriageway will be resurfaced with Thin Surface Course Systems (TSCS) which is modern low noise surface technology tarmac.

We will be planting trees and shrubs on the east side of the carriageway where Oak Tree Lane meets the motorway; the side of the motorway where properties under the CW10 9LU postcode are located. I have attached drawing B1948000/3000/012 showing the extent of the planting which extends both south and north of Oak Tree Lane.

I have also investigated other mitigation measures and structures in your vicinity for completeness of our reply.

We currently propose replacing the MS3 variable message sign situated 50 metres south of Oak Tree Lane with a new MS4 variable message sign. There will be little difference between the two signs size wise. The new sign provides more functionality for the messages displayed.

As part of the scheme proposals we will also be erecting noise barriers in the west and east verges of the M6 respectively, adjacent to the end properties on Oak Tree Lane. I have attached draft copies of drawings B1948000/410/005 and 008 detailing the location of the noise barriers (refs: E/A/5 – west verge and E/B/2 – east verge). I have also attached an additional version of E/B/2 noise barrier plan on which I have annotated the approximate location of Oak Tree Lane for you. The noise barriers coupled with the low noise surface tarmac should have the effect of reducing noise levels in the vicinity of where the noise barrier is erected.

Thank you for your interest in the scheme. More information can be found on our scheme webpage here  (opens new window). You can also sign up for e-mail alerts relating to the scheme there.
